New updates about Uttarakashi Tunnel acceident. 41 people Stuck in Uttarkashi Silkya Tunnel Uttarakhand, have to wait to come out from the tunnel till December 25. This is heart broken News. Most Probably then they may never come out as that is the peak winters in Uttarakhand . These people are working to pave the way for religious places. If they are not saved soon they will never come back. The reason for this is that there is severe cold and snow in the mountains in December, due to which relief and rescue operations will not be easy.

WHAT HAPPENNED ,WHEN?

There is about 4531 meter long tunnel under construction near Silkyara between Dharasu and Barkot on the Yamunotri National Highway of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand India, in which 2340 meters has been constructed from Silkyara side and 1600 meters from Barkot side.

On 12 th of November , one part of under construction tunnel collapsed and 41 workers stuck under the tunnel.

After that Government started rescue operation and a six-inch pipe was also inserted in the tunnel, through which khichdi was sent to the workers in plastic bottles. Food and water are being sent to them continuously from here. A camera was also sent inside through which the workers are being monitored and they are also being talked to through walkie talkie. Their families are also being talked to so that their morale remains intact.

Agencies such as NDRF, SDRF, BRO, NHIDCL, and ITBP have joined forces to conduct the rescue operations for the trapped workers, and an American auger machine was being used to drill a tunnel into the rubble to rescue the men eventually. International tunnel expert Arnold Dix was also called to join the rescue operations to save the lives of trapped workers. It was expected that these men will be rescued within few hours, But as Auger machine is now not in function.

International tunnel expert Arnold Dix said on Saturday that there were multiple ways to rescue the trapped workers. “There are multiple ways. It’s not just one way. At the moment, everything is fine. You will not see the augering anymore. Auger’s work is finished. The auger (machine) has broken. It’s irreparable. It is disrupted. No more work from Auger. No more drilling from the Auger. There will not be a new auger,” International Tunnelling Expert Arnold Dix said.

Accordind to new updates, now it will take more time. December 25 is the new date given by the experts when the trapped workers are expected to come out from the blocked tunnel and see the Sun light.
