Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

Well , this is really an Interesting Topic and definitely, I ‘d love to share my experiences. So far I’ve helped many people in different ways. Before I share my experiences I want to tell you what is Kindness and its importance in life.

What is Kindness?

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, compassionate, and considerate towards others. It involves showing empathy and understanding, and it often manifests through acts of goodwill, respect, and helping those in need. Kindness is not only about being polite; it goes beyond common courtesy to create positive and meaningful connections with people.

Importance of Kindness:

  1. Fosters Positive Relationships: Kindness is a fundamental building block for forming and maintaining healthy relationships. It promotes trust, openness, and mutual respect between individuals, creating a supportive and caring environment.
  2. Reduces Conflict: When people treat others with kindness and empathy, it diffuses tension and reduces the likelihood of conflicts arising. It can lead to better conflict resolution and improved communication.
  3. Enhances Well-being: Both the giver and receiver of kindness experience a boost in well-being. Acts of kindness trigger the release of oxytocin and endorphins, the “feel-good” hormones, leading to increased happiness and reduced stress levels.
  4. Creates a Ripple Effect: One act of kindness can inspire others to follow suit, creating a positive chain reaction that spreads through communities and beyond. Small acts of kindness can lead to significant positive impacts on society.
  5. Improves Mental Health: Engaging in acts of kindness has been linked to improved mental health outcomes. It can decrease feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging.
  6. Cultivates Empathy: Being kind requires understanding and considering others’ perspectives and feelings. By practicing empathy, individuals can develop a deeper sense of connection with those around them.
  7. Strengthens Community: Kindness strengthens the social fabric of communities. When people care for one another, it fosters a sense of unity and cooperation, leading to more resilient and supportive societies.

In essence, kindness is a powerful force that not only benefits individuals but also has the potential to transform entire communities and societies. It serves as a guiding principle in building a more compassionate, harmonious, and interconnected world.

I hope you understood the Importance of kindness till now. So far, I have helped many people or you can say was kind to them. I never expected any benefit or reward from them or never expected any appreciation for my work. Here, I am not going to narrate those stories, as in India, there is a saying “Neki kar, Dariya me dal” means “One should forget his acts of kindness .” In other words, Avoid self praise as it shows arrogance. but I would like to share some weird experiences of mine when I tried to help others.

First experience was with a girl who felt I was a fool, as I was helping her. I was a teacher in a school and then , there joined this Fresher as a teacher. She was totally new to this profession. She had even not had her B.Ed.(Teachers training) She told me that she had no idea about anything and asked for help. Being in Teaching profession from a long time it became a habit of me that I help others to learn wherever I can. This girl showed her gratitude and was very polite. She kept on asking many things now and than. She requested me to do paper works for her as she was not that much experienced. Though I told her the right way , but she was repeatedly requested me to do her tasks. I thought I was helping her, but she was taking advantage of me. She was putting all her workload on me. One day I was passing through the corridor and this girl , unaware of my presence there, talking with her friend “Mai to saara kam Isi (mentioned my name) se karva leti hu. Bus thoda sa buttering karni padati hai.”( I get all the my work done by this (mentioned my name). All it takes is a little buttering) . I was shocked to hear this. The girl whom I was thinking innocent, polite and novice was much much smarter than my expectations! Ha, Ha . Here I was considering myself well experienced, wise and knowledgeable and puffed like a proudy frog And this girl was fooling me only. That day, I learnt a lesson. Help others ! but never over do it.

Other experience is totally different. I was walking in the lane where I used to live. I saw a house maid was talking to the housewife (both muslims) where she used to work. After sometime, I saw that the maid was coming out of the house . She was crying very badly. I went close to her and asked the reason for crying. She told that her son was sick and was not able to pass urine. He urgently needed to see the doctor. But , she had no money. So she came there to ask hundred rupees , but madam refused to give even a single penny in advance. She told me that she was working in that house past three years but they were not ready to help her in the hour of need. I felt sorry for that lady and opened my wallet and took out a note of hundred rupees and gave it to the poor housemaid so that she could take her child to the doctor. To my surprise, instead of saying thank you, she said,”Muslim ho kya?” ( Are You Muslim?). It was shocking to me. I grew up in a secular country India where we respect all the religions. We never differenciate people by their caste , creed, religion, language etc, etc. Also I think , to show kindness and mercy one should not judge anyone by such things. When you are helping others, it should be totally free from any condition . I wish people should be educated and grow and get a free state of mind, where there should be only pure love and generosity.

Anyway, even after these two odd incidents, I will never change my behaviour. As I know giving and helping others gives immense peace of mind and happiness. And other thing I believe in law of karma. Our Deeds always come back to us multiplied many times . Hence, One should always lend a helping hand whenever someone in need . Then only you are a “True Human”. Thanks
